The Allardyce dilemma...
I am curious as to where people stand with Allardyce right now.

So let's say you are David Sullivan and today Allardyce's agent contacts you to confirm that a rival Premier League club has offered Allardyce a two year deal from the start of next season mirroring his current salary & bonus.

Allardyce says he wants clarification on his future today otherwise he is going to take up the other offer and leave in the summer.

So based on how things stand right now, would you

A)
Let him go in the summer.
or
B)
Agree a new two year deal to run from next summer.

I'm going with B. I'll admit I was always pro Allardyce right up until Hull at home last year which was the final straw for me. But this season you have to give him credit. He is proving he is open to change and for that I will go B.

So let's have it, A or B. There is no C option.

I would have always gone with B anyway, regardless of this seasons start

At the moment, B.

A few things have transpired that have gone massively in his favour - and whilst I wouldn't take any credit away from him, it's bettter to be a lucky manager than a good one.

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
I'd tell his lying bullshitting agent to prove it. Then I'd say if he wants to leave he can, saving us paying out any compo to him.

Then I'd go and get someone like Eddie Howe to take us forwards.

If I was Sullivan my response would be "Fuck off you lying cunt. Let's see if he can maintain it and then we'll talk, oh and tell Nolan you're looking for another club for him."

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
To be honest, if I was David SULLIVAN, I'd be pretty full of myself right now.

What was it? Something like 13 strikers, more than £40 million spent - and he's just plucked one for £4.5 million who's had a bigger impact than any of those who went previously.

Worryingly, he might think he's decent at this transfer lark.

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
He would not be getting a new contract from me, however we get on. Champions League football included. Yes, I know, highly unlikely.

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
I'd review the situation later on in the season, as Nolan and Carroll's return could mean a change in formation and style that led to booing our captain and singing FUCK OFF to our manager.

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
New contract could be possible, but with improved terms for the club and strictly performance related targets that have to be raised to reflect the success of the club and the investment from the owners.

"Allardyce says he wants clarification on his future today "

His immediate future will be appearing as a witness in our case against some club who is tapping up our manager. If that's true of course.

Then he will be informed of our decision when we are good and ready.

We are ready

Its A

I'd take A all day long!

Mind you I wouldn't do it until the end of the season to stop the fat oaf tapping up the decent players.

A.

There's really no turn of events that could see me changing my view, no matter how hypothetical and abstract.

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
Call is bluff and if he walks he walks!

I would say it is the summer signings particularly up front combined with the injury to Nolan that has seen our turn in fortune. In other words he got lucky.

Another manager could easily come in and do just as well if not better with this side and maybe even bring on the youth a little more too!

Re: The Allardyce dilemma...
Tell him he has to earn his new contract and it will only be reviewed at the end of the season.

I can't think that he'll be offered more money than he is on now, or a better club, so this whole thing is pointless.

As it stands he is turning it around from last season and the pressure is lifting. We look a much better side now. If we have a top half finish he'll have earned a new contract, no question.
